The Stephen Ellis is CEO of Ellis Developments QLD, one of the leading developers and builders of small-lot subdivisions - clusters of townhouse-like single-family homes that are only 50mm apart from each other. The sleek, modern developments have proved extremely popular amongst Townsville homebuyers in recent years, particularly in high-demand inner-city neighbourhoods such as The Village and Haven Townsville, where demand for Ellis homes means they can’t build them fast enough to satisfy demand with waiting lists in place. Sarah Wheatley
General Manager
Sarah grew up on the sunny Gold Coast spending much of her time on building sites due to having a Chippy for a Father. She is a qualified Human Resources Manager and spent 10 years in Recruitment and Human Resources Management for large civil construction and government organisations. After seeking a career change, she landed an opportunity at Ellis Developments where she holds the role of General Manager and thoroughly enjoys managing her team and watching the design visions and dreams of Ellis Developments clients come to fruition.
Shayley Connelly
New Home Sales Consultant
Originally from Broome, Western Australia and moving to Townsville when she was 12, Shayley now considers herself a local! Shayley is a young first home buyer and built her first home with Ellis Developments in 2020/21 at the Village Estate. She knows first hand the process and loved it, which is why she jumped at the opportunity to work with the team at Ellis Developments.

Being a lifelong resident of Townsville I have a deep understanding of our local community and its real estate landscape. I have developed an intimate knowledge of the neighborhoods, amenities, and opportunities that make our city such a wonderful place to live. I am a proud supporter of the NQ Cowboys, and when not spending time with my family I am always running, going to the gym or thinking of a new DIY project for myself and my children.
Darren Hawkins
Construction Manager
With over 25 years in the building industry, Darren brings a breadth of knowledge to Ellis Developments. As a carpenter and joiner by trade, Darren has had his hand in wide variety of builds from high-rise apartment buildings, healthcare facilities, grouped residential, and custom built homes. When he is away from site, Darren enjoys camping, 4WD, and spending time with his wife and 2 children.
Michael Harper
Senior Draftsman
Michael has over 15 years of experience as a building designer with over 650 completed drawings that have turned into client’s forever homes. As a valuable member of the Ellis team, he helps turn client’s napkin sketches and ideas into the real thing.
Michael has a fur child, Violet- an energetic Australian Shepherd and a loving, patient partner who has to remind Michael that they can’t build a new home every 6 months because of his new building design ideas and trends. However, he still gets the satisfaction to see client’s love them instead.
Continuing to further his education, Michael is currently finishing the Diploma of Building Design.
Bill Sallaway
Foreman
Bill has been in the building industry for nearly 30 years and has worked in every aspect of residential construction; bring a wealthy of knowledge to Ellis developments. Bill’s looking forward to continued study in his chosen field, which will see him complete a certificate IV in Construction. As a Townsville local, Bill makes most of the North Queensland lifestyle by enjoying weekends of camping, fishing and motorbike riding with his kids.

Originally from Melbourne, Tahli loves the Townsville lifestyle. Tahli has a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) and has been in accounts for 15 years. Her and her husband have 3 beautiful children. Always friendly and professional, Tahli is a huge asset to the Ellis Developments Team.
Annette Rogers
Client Liaison Officer
Annette has worked 28 yrs in the building industry-12 years in the tile industry, 9 years running her own interior design business, and 7 years as a Construction Manager in residential home building.
A lover of the outdoors, Annette loves fishing, camping, and playing volleyball, and watching AFL.
